Agricultural Machinery to Improve Agricultural Efficiency

In the Era of mechanization, there are several farm equipment used in agriculture activity that helps to reduce time and human effort.

As we know India is one of the second-highest agricultural food producers in the world in the field of agriculture. Our nation ranks amongst the top five that contribute at least 80 percent of the agricultural products of the whole world and is the 7th largest exporter of agricultural goods. Still, surprisingly an average Indian farmer’s income is approx. 6k a month or less.

As per many surveys, It has been found that the reason behind the low income of Indian farmers is the old farming techniques and less use of the agricultural machinery. Our country has a large number of agricultural machinery manufacturers, still, a significant number of farmers don’t use any agricultural implements in agricultural activity. Some farmers even do not use tractors in India. In our country, more than fifty percent of the total cultivation of land in our country is still worked by animals like oxen, buffalo, and camels.

Farmers need to use mechanized farm equipment and machinery farming to keep in sync with technology in modern times and make the best use of them. New products in the farming sector have a great impact on crop production. Here we have explained some of the frequently used farm equipment in the agricultural process.

Farm Machinery

Tractors

The tractor is one of the most versatile farm machinery among farmers and Indian farmers need to use tractors instead of relying on animals. It will not only help them increase productivity but also helps to maintain the good health of the farmer. They significantly help in pulling the heavy farm equipment used on a farm such as a rotavator or rotary tiller mb plough, cultivator, balers, trailers, and mulchers etc. and are a must for best results.

Seed Drill

A seed drill is another agricultural machinery that greatly helps to increase efficiency when it comes to planting seeds. The key function of a seed drill is to plant the seeds directly into the soil by digging a hole in the ground and covering them. A seed drill is majorly preferred to be used in areas with a high risk of soil erosion.

Combine Harvester

During the harvesting season, cutting down plants and removing grains from them is a big challenge for farmers specifically when there is a risk of wasting due to bad weather. A combined harvester greatly helps farmers that have large areas of the farm to extract grains in a short time, effectively and efficiently.

Fertilizer Spreaders

The crops are highly vulnerable to natural-born dangers like pests and insects. Sometimes the air or the soil can also be harmful to the crop. The only solution to prevent the crops from damaging is to spray chemicals and fertilizers using fertilizer spreaders into the crop and soil.

Water Sprinkler or Irrigation Systems

All plants need an adequate amount of water for thriving. Both excesses, as well as the less amount of water, can be harmful to the crops. It becomes difficult for a farmer to supply water to the plants specifically in the case of large farms. Modern Sprinkler systems or irrigation systems are used to sprinkle the water on large farms evenly like natural rain.
